Dana Gunders recently launched her own firm after serving as a Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Gunders was one of the first to bring to light how much food is wasted across the country through her 2012 report, "Wasted: How America is Losing Up to 40% of Its Food from Farm to Fork to Landfill." She led NRDC's work on the topic for the last 5 years, including helping to create the NRDC/Ad Council public outreach and education campaign, SaveTheFood.com. Gunders work has been featured by countless media outlets, from Last Week Tonight with John Oliver to NPR Science Friday to Dr. Oz. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University, and spends far too much of her free time pondering how to get her two children to eat egg yolks and throw less food on the floor.
