Phil is Sr. Director of Corporate Development at Patagonia and Managing Director of Tin Shed Ventures, the company’s in-house venture capital fund. He works closely with CEO Rose Marcario, the woman driving Patagonia to be (even more) radical, and ran point on the development and creation of Regenerative Organic Certification—a collaborative initiative among a coalition of brands, farmers, nonprofits, ranchers and scientists that raises the bar for soil health, animal welfare, and social farness to farmers and workers. He also oversees Patagonia’s Worn Wear business unit, where customers purchase certified pre-owned Patagonia gear and trade-in used gear for credit. His wheelhouse includes new business ventures, investments, innovation, and strategy.
He is a proud Texas Aggie, earning a degrees in finance and accounting, and board member of U.C. Berkeley Haas’s Center for Responsible Business.
Outside of work he enjoys surfing, skiing, and exploring wild places with his wife and three young daughters.
