ProfileDr. Jesse D. Miller has 16 years of experience in microbiology, molecular biology, next generation sequencing, product commercialization and front-end innovation. His academic research foci have been on the bacterial pathogenesis of Streptococcus and coral reef disease, while his primary industrial research focus has been the creation of diagnostics for the food safety and health care markets. During his time in industry, he has led and trained multiple teams on the activities and principles necessary to create meaningful products and services in today's fast-paced product development world using front-end tools. In his role as Director of NSF International's Applied Research Center, Dr. Miller works with collaborators to perform, publish and promote valuable, novel scientific research that furthers public health and safety. Dr. Miller has authored numerous publications and over a dozen patents. He holds a Ph.D. in microbiology from the Wayne State University School of Medicine and a B.S. in microbiology from the University of Michigan.
