Natural Products Expo West 2020 will not be rescheduled

New Hope Network has decided to not move forward with hosting a rescheduled Natural Products Expo West 2020 in Anaheim. 

Please see below for answers to the questions we have been receiving most frequently.

 

 



Exhibitor Questions

 

For our partners who were scheduled to exhibit or sponsor at Expo West 2020, we will be offering a full credit for exhibit space and sponsorship/marketing programming contracted directly with New Hope Network toward future activity. With the community already rallying around our move to Philadelphia, and with the increased engagement from retailers and other buyers that we are building for our Expo East show, our hope is that this credit will be used toward exhibiting at Expo East 2020. With that said, the credit can also be applied to 2020 media solutions, 2020 data and insights programming (NEXT and Nutrition Business Journal) and toward Expo West 2021 exhibit and sponsorship programming. The credit must be used by the end of February 2021. To further discuss how to strategically apply this credit, please contact your New Hope account manager directly.

With this cancellation, New Hope’s intention is to refund all paid badges, education upgrades, trainings and tours that were associated with the official registration for the Expo West 2020 event. We will begin processing refunds in the next few weeks to conclude by mid-April. The refunded amount will be issued back to the credit card associated with your registration. We appreciate your patience. If you do not receive an email about your refund by mid-April, please contact expowest@newhope.com. For questions regarding partner event registrations, please contact those organizations directly.

The official Expo West 2021 booth selection process will resume April 27th and continue through May 14th. All exhibiting companies with a previous on-site re-sign appointment will be called based on their Priority Point status. If your company’s primary contact has not yet received official communication regarding this process, please contact your account manager immediately. All companies are encouraged to view our Exhibit in 2021 page here.

To date there are 50 companies with product remaining in the care of GES. If you are one of those companies, please contact the GES Service Center at 800-475-2098 or via chat on their website: www.ges.com.

With this cancellation, we are also seeking a greater understanding of the financial implications and refund potential with our various official event vendor partners. While we are actively engaged with these partners, their refund policies will ultimately be based on individual company policy and the terms that were committed to outside of our direct involvement.

We will share status updates as we receive them for each of these partner vendors. We will also note the appropriate contacts when decisions have been made.

These partners include:

  • Aramark: Full refunds will be issued to exhibitors who placed orders for Expo West. 
  • Convention Photo: Full refunds will be issued.  
  • CompuSystems - Lead Retrieval: Full refunds will be issued. Please allow 90 days for all refunds to be completed. For questions, please contact exhibitor-support@csireg.com. (Update 5/7/2020). 
  • Exhibitor Insurance: U.S. Exhibitors who purchased insurance through Exhibitor Insurance will be refunded in full. For U.S. Exhibitor questions, email info@exhibitorinsurance.com. International Exhibitor insurance coverage will be included in the Exhibition credit through New Hope Network. 
  • GES: GES invoices are based on services rendered. For questions regarding your invoice, please contact the GES National Service Center at 1-800-475-2098.
  • Lowe Refrigeration: Options include: Credit to Expo West 2021 or a full refund. Please contact Victoria Abney at victoria@loweusa.com for all credits or refunds. 
  • PSAV: We have been informed that no refunds will be issued. 
  • Smart City: Please refer to the stated cancellation policy on your individual order. 
  • Trade Show Temps: 50% refunds will be issued. 

New Hope Network does not have access to parties outside of the list of our official partners above and you will need to reach out to them directly regarding refunds. This includes exhibitor appointed contractors.

The Natural Products Expo Connect platform is the official directory for Expo West and Expo East and is fast becoming an innovation discovery resource for the industry year-round. We encourage Expo West 2020 exhibitors promote their products, tell their story, and showcase their latest announcements via Expo Connect.

As an exhibitor, you should submit your products to the Expo Connect directory immediately. The Expo West onboarding portal will remain open until April 30. You can go to the onboarding portal and submit label flat and marketing image for all the products that you would have shown at your booth, and it’s completely free. Once submitted they will be digitized and assigned numerous searchable attributes, and will be displayed on the directory within 10 business days.

All Expo West exhibitors will also be given access to premium digital content on Expo Connect to help brands tell their story, share their announcements and showcase their products. This includes videos, marketing materials, press releases, show specials and more!

To keep the compliance quality and integrity of your product presentation(s) in the Connect directory, our Standards Department will continue to review your product labeling and marketing submitted to the Connect directory as would be done at the events.

Attendee Questions

The Natural Products Expo Connect platform is the official directory for Expo West and Expo East and is fast becoming a resource for the industry year-round. Visit this directory often as new products, brand stories, marketing information and more will be streaming in over the next weeks and months. Today, the directory already has almost 10,000 products that would have been shown at Expo West, with more on the way.

You can use Expo Connect to:

  • Discover companies and products being featured with noteworthy news and new product launches 
  • Explore all companies and products across many dimensions, including categories, ingredients, marketing claims or certifications 
  • Use keyword search to find brands and products that mention key words and phrases 
  • Create a favorites list for easy reference 
  • Request information from exhibitors from right inside the platform

$5M Fund Questions
 

New Hope established a $5m fund to support emerging brands significantly affected by the Expo West 2020 disruption, ensuring we help many of our most vulnerable and impacted community members.

An independent advisory council has now been formed to help us establish criteria for how we best manage and most fairly disperse our $5 million fund.

In addition, this council will be advising how to ensure we make Expo East 2020 the most valuable innovation and community event possible for retailers/buyers and brands large and small and will provide input and ideas for how we best serve the industry in Philadelphia and beyond. 

Led by industry veteran John Grubb, a former managing partner of Sterling-Rice Group and the current board president of Naturally Boulder, this group is comprised of leaders from across the natural & organic products community, including:
